Present Scenario and Risk Factor of Diabetes

There are 3 types of Diabetes: Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational Diabetes with all of 3 your body can’t make or use insulin. Current scenario of Diabetes is critical as the number of people suffering from Diabetes has risen from 108 million in 1980 to 422 million in 2014. Diabetic prevalence has been rising more rapidly in middle and low income countries; it is also becoming major cause of blindness, kidney failures, heart attacks, stroke and lower limb amputation. Almost half of all deaths attributable to high blood glucose occur before the age of 70 years. WHO projects that diabetes will be the 7th leading cause of death in 2030. There are many risk factors related to different types of Diabetes i.e. Type 1 Diabetes can be caused because of family history, disease of the pancreas, dietary factors, geography and infection or illness whereas Type 2 Diabetes can be occurred because of Obesity being overweight, impaired glucose tolerance, insulin resistance, ethnic background, high blood pressure, Low levels of HDL ("good") cholesterol and high levels of triglycerides, sedentary lifestyle, polycystic ovary syndrome and age.
